OBEs and Pets: Yes, You Can Connect With Your Deceased Pets in Astral Projection

I lost Millie a year ago today. I absolutely adored her and I’m still grieving her loss. One thing that has helped me the most is to connect with her energy in deep meditation and yoga nidra and really feel her... not to feel her absence, but to feel her presence. 

I’ve had a few dreams with her since she died, but last week, I actually saw and felt her at the foot of my bed where she used to sleep. I was doing my out-of-body (OBE) practice at around 5.30am and started to see out of closed eyelids, and there she was. It was short, but it was the first time I was able to see her like that since her death.

In the past, I’ve connected with another beloved cat called Daisy in an OBE. She died very suddenly and it remains one of the most profound and healing experiences I’ve ever had. It took me many attempts to connect with Daisy and I had to learn one of the most important skills for exploring the astral realms to finally be able to do it: staying calm and simply witnessing what was happening without getting wrapped up in it.

This state of mind is often called the “witnessing consciousness”and it's incredibly useful in the higher realms. Why?

The astral planes are really thought responsive; they're sensitive to our thoughts and emotions, and shape our experience.

When you’re out of body and strong emotions like fear or excitement come up, they can pull you back to your body. The best thing you can do to navigate this is to cultivate the mindset of a calm observer.

When I was trying to connect with Daisy, I would go out of body and command to see her, saying, "Take me to Daisy now." When I saw her, I would get so excited and overwhelmed with emotion that the whole experience would phase out and I'd find myself back in my body.

I had to work on both cultivating this witnessing consciousness to finally be able to connect with her.

And for anyone else going through something similar, please know that our beloved babies are always here, waiting for us to connect with them. I certainly intend on going on adventures with Millie again soon 🧡
